Recycling
What to do with all that stuff you pull out of your old house? Sadly, much of it will end up as land fill, but materials such as copper wiring, iron plumbing, lead vents, steel railings, appliances and windows can not only be recyced or donated, but they can often be sold. Click on a link for more information:
  • www.HabitatBozeman.org — Habitat for Humanity's RESTORE program accepts donations of new and saleable, used building materials such as cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, doors, lumber, flooring, and windows, as well as appliances and household items. Some materials are used to build Habitat houses. The rest will be sold to the public at 50-75% off the retail price.
  • www.Bozeman.net — The City of Bozeman is a member of the Headwaters Cooperative Recycling Project (HCRP). At each site residents are able to recycle newspaper, magazines, steel and aluminum cans, cardboard, glass, and plastic. The cardboard from each site is collected 6 days a week by the City of Bozeman. HCRP collects the newspaper, magazines, steel and aluminum cans, glass and plastic which are processed at another location 3 times per week. These drop off sites are free of charge and open to all residents of Gallatin County. Click for locations and acceptable materials.
